INTERNSHIP PHASE 1

WEEK 11

WEEKLY REFLECTION

29/9/2025 to 4/10/2025

Monday to Saturday

This week of my internship was fully focused on classroom teaching and observation. Each day helped me understand the flow of school routines and gave me meaningful opportunities to learn through direct interaction with students.

I observed several classes handled by different teachers. Watching their teaching styles helped me understand how to introduce topics clearly, use the blackboard effectively, and keep students attentive. I also noticed how teachers handled discipline gently but firmly, which gave me practical ideas for my own teaching.

I received multiple substitution periods this week. During these times, I supervised the class, guided students with their work, and clarified their doubts. Managing the class independently helped me build confidence and improve my communication skills. I learned the importance of giving clear instructions and maintaining a calm atmosphere so students stay focused.

My own teaching sessions were an important part of the week. I prepared lesson plans in advance and tried to present the content in a simple and structured way. I used examples, questions, and board work to help students understand the lesson better. Their active responses encouraged me to adjust my teaching pace and approach based on their needs.

Throughout the week, I interacted closely with students, which helped create a friendly and supportive classroom environment. They felt more comfortable asking questions, and this made the learning process smoother. I also practised time management by ensuring each part of the lesson was completed within the allotted period.

Overall, this week helped me grow as a teacher-trainee. I became more confident in teaching, better at managing classrooms, and more aware of how to meet students’ learning needs. I look forward to continuing this progress in the coming weeks of my internship.
